Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is recruiting a Health Care Support Worker through NHS Professionals for bank shifts in acute hospital care. You will take patients' observations and assist with daily living tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring dignity and privacy are protected.

Shifts are chosen by you, hours vary, and eligibility requires at least six months of acute HCSW experience within the last two years or current nursing student placements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months acute HCSW experience in UK private, NHS or Armed Forces hospital or hospice settings within the last 2 years.
• If currently studying General/Adult Nursing, completed a minimum of 12 weeks of clinical placements.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respirations and weight.
• Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the registered nurse.
• Keeping the patient at the centre of decisions about their care and wellbeing.
• Helping patients with compassion in daily living while protecting privacy, dignity and human rights.
