Job summary

The Supply Register in Southport is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs in a primary setting. You will help build confidence, support social and academic development, and contribute to an inclusive classroom.

This temporary role offers flexible placements with weekly pay and access to CPD training, with a DBS on the Update Service preferred. Join a supportive local team in a final-year primary placement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school or SEN setting.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
• Compassionate, patient and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
• Work with the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
• Encourage social, emotional and academic development.
• Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere aligned with school values.
• Support with behaviour management when required.
