Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with diverse needs. The role offers long-term and flexible supply with a September 2026 start and competitive pay, along with local opportunities.

You will provide personalised 1:1 support, help the pupil access learning, and assist with communication, emotional regulation and social development within the school day.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Previous SEND, education, care or youth work experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Helping pupils access learning and activities.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Supporting transitions and changes in routine.
• Adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families.
• Providing personal care support where required.
