Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Science Tutor to support children and young people across West Sussex with tailored 1:1 science tuition. You’ll work on behalf of Local Authorities to boost understanding and progress in Science, with a flexible schedule and September start.

Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience in education, strong science knowledge, and the ability to deliver engaging, personalised sessions. DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of one or more Science disciplines.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 science tuition to children and young people across West Sussex.
• Help learners develop their understanding of Science and improve engagement and academic progress.
• Support learners with SEND or additional educational needs where applicable.
