Job summary

Quantum Scholars are seeking a qualified Science Tutor to provide 1:1 Science tuition for a pupil accessing EOTAS in Wokingham. The role is part-time and ongoing, 4.5 hours per week with flexible days/times to fit around other commitments.

You will deliver tailored lessons, build rapport, monitor progress and liaise with parents and Quantum Scholars to support the pupil's educational journey in a home-based setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge across Science.
• Experience teaching Science, ideally within a secondary setting.
• Experience providing 1:1 tuition is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 Science tuition tailored to the pupil’s needs.
• Plan and prepare appropriate Science lessons and learning activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to maintain engagement and support learning needs.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Maintain clear records of sessions and pupil progress.
• Liaise with parents/carers and Quantum Scholars team where appropriate.
• Create a calm, supportive home learning environment.
