Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a qualified Science Tutor to provide 1:1 Science tuition to a learner accessing EOTAS provision in Wokingham. This part-time, ongoing role offers flexible hours and sessions arranged around the tutor’s availability.

You will hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification with strong Science knowledge and experience delivering 1:1 tuition. The role emphasises personalised support, progress tracking and a calm home-based learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge across Science.
• Experience teaching Science, ideally in a secondary setting.
• Experience providing 1:1 tuition is desirable.
• Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 Science tuition tailored to the pupil's needs.
• Plan and prepare appropriate Science lessons and activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to maintain engagement and support learning needs.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Maintain clear records of sessions and pupil progress.
• Liaise with parents/carers and Quantum Scholars team as appropriate.
• Create a calm, supportive home learning environment.
