Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed ESOL Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Grays to support children with English support. You will create bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education.

Many pupils may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable and encouraging approach is essential. Competitive pay and flexible working options are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching or tutoring is required.
• Strong understanding of the curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one‑to‑one tuition sessions based on each student's needs.
• Provide ESOL/EAL/English support.
• Encourage confidence, independence and effective study habits.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers when required.
