Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated ESOL Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to learners across the Wirral. The position involves delivering personalised ESOL lessons to non-native English speakers, helping them develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Tutors may work in learners' homes, community venues, or other agreed locations, with 5–15 hours per week and a September 2026 start date. This agency role prioritises flexibility and learner-centred support.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent).
• Experience delivering ESOL or English language tuition.
• Experience working one-to-one or with small groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced ESOL Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to learners across the Wirral.

The Opportunity

This rewarding role involves supporting learners whose first language is not English, helping them to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Tutors will deliver personalised lessons that build confidence, improve communication and support learners in achieving their educational, employment or personal goals.

Tuition may take place in learners' homes, community settings or other agreed venues, depending on individual needs.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent)
• Experience delivering ESOL or English language tuition
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, adaptable and learner-centred approach

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references relating to work with children or vulnerable adults
