Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated ESOL Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 English language tuition to learners across Southport. Sessions may take place in learners' homes, community settings or other agreed locations, with hours flexible between 5 and 15 per week, starting September 2026.

You will help learners improve speaking, listening, reading and writing, tailor sessions to individual needs, and support confidence and independence through personalised English language support.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent).
• Experience delivering ESOL, English language tuition or literacy support.
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred sessions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, supportive and adaptable approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality 1:1 ESOL tuition to learners.
• Support learners to build confidence and language skills.
• Tailor sessions to individual needs and goals.
• Record progress and provide feedback to learners and, where appropriate, to carers/parents.
