Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed ESOL Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Grays to support children with English support. You will create bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education.

Many pupils may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable and encouraging approach is essential. Competitive pay and flexible working options are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching or tutoring is required.
• Strong understanding of the curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition sessions based on each student's individual needs
• Provide support ESOL/EAL/English support.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and effective study habits
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required

Requirements

• QTS, TEFL, equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience
• Previous experience teaching or tutoring students
• Strong understanding of the curriculum
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
