Job summary

Secom Plc is seeking a skilled Workshop Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet vehicles, ensuring safety and roadworthiness. You will report to the Fleet Manager and work with the Workshop Controller to deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities include routine servicing, diagnosing faults, conducting safety checks, and maintaining detailed repair logs. You will prioritise tasks with the Fleet Manager and may perform test drives or vehicle delivery to MOT stations as required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Workshop Mechanic
• Diesel and hybrid vehicle knowledge
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
• Valid full driving license
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of Renault, Peugeot and Toyota vehicles (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services.
• Collaborate with Fleet Manager and Workshop Controller to prioritise tasks.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure optimal performance; deliver to MOT stations or branches when required.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures.
