Job summary

Force Dyfed Powys Police in Carmarthen is seeking a Fleet Technician to service, repair, diagnose and commission fleet vehicles, supporting operational policing and departmental requirements.

You will apply practical maintenance procedures, use specialist diagnostic tools, and implement fleet safety regulations while keeping up-to-date with technical knowledge through CPD. The role includes installation and maintenance of emergency lighting and communications systems.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and repairing fleet vehicles to MOT standards.
• Ability to install and maintain specialist police vehicle systems such as emergency lighting and communications.
• Commitment to maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Fleet Technician (Carmarthen) in the Fleet Department.

What you will be doing?

To service, repair, diagnose and commission Fleet vehicles in an efficient and timely manner, supporting operational policing and departmental requirements.

Role Specific Tasks:

• Responsible for conducting services and repairs to force vehicles to meet MOT and Dyfed Powys police standards. This requires applying practical maintenance procedures and using specialist diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure vehicles are safe to operate in the policing environment.
• Understand and implement relevant fleet policies and safety regulations whilst maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge through continual professional development.
• Responsible for installing and maintaining specialist police vehicle systems such as emergency lighting, communications and operational equipment.
