Job summary

MJ Quinn is seeking a proactive Driver & Trailer Assessor for our Knowsley fleet. You will conduct driver and trailer assessments, monitor driver behaviour with telematics, and support safety compliance across the operation.

Responsibilities include installing telematics, delivering toolbox talks, and auditing vehicle and driver performance while maintaining thorough records and promoting a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport or fleet operations.
• Driver Assessor or Driver Instructor qualifications.
• Knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with telematics systems and dash cameras.
• Experience delivering toolbox talks and conducting audits or compliance checks.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driver assessments (initial, periodic, reactive).
• Assess trailer operations including coupling/uncoupling, loading safety, defect checks.
• Provide coaching and constructive feedback to improve driver performance and compliance.
• Maintain accurate assessment and training records.
• Monitor driver performance through telematics systems and review dash camera footage.
• Produce driver performance reports and support corrective action plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain telematics and dash camera systems.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Ensure drivers follow company procedures and legal requirements.
• Support ongoing driver education and compliance initiatives.
