Job summary

MJ Quinn is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee safe, compliant and efficient transport operations across South Wales. The role focuses on fleet compliance, vehicle availability and operational excellence to support key business objectives.

In this permanent, full-time position you will manage licence compliance, driver records and vehicle maintenance while coordinating with operational teams. The package includes a company vehicle and a Monday–Friday day pattern.

Qualifications

• Transport manager CPC qualified.
• Level 3 Transport management qualification.
• Previous experience in a Transport Manager or Fleet Management role.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and Operator Licence compliance.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain compliance with the company’s Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence.
• Ensure all vehicles, trailers and plant equipment remain roadworthy, compliant and available for operational requirements.
• Monitor and manage driver compliance, including licence checks, driver assessments and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, defect reporting and repair programmes.
• Conduct fleet audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigate vehicle incidents and manage corrective actions where required.
• Support fleet planning and vehicle utilisation across the region.
• Manage telematics systems and vehicle tracking data.
• Liaise with suppliers, maintenance providers and operational teams.
• Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety and compliance throughout the fleet operation.
