A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of emergency and non-emergency vehicles. The role involves conducting emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have a recognized apprenticeship and extensive experience in vehicle repair. The post holder will work on the Fleet Night Mobile Van, attending repairs at both static and roadside locations across London.
The primary responsibility is to provide emergency repairs and routine maintenance for the NHS Trust's fleet of over 1000 emergency and non-emergency vehicles.
The post holder is required to efficiently carry out servicing, repair, and maintenance tasks according to manufacturer and Trust standards on a variety of vehicles, including ambulances, non-ambulance service vehicles, Light Commercial, Heavy Goods vehicles, and cars from various manufacturers.
The post holder undertakes maintenance and repair work on vehicles and specialised equipment, including welding (arc/MIG/gas), fabricating parts that are no longer available, and seeking advice on part specifications to ensure safety and compliance with Health and Safety standards. Responsibilities also include general maintenance of workshop equipment and tools, with an emphasis on safety awareness.

The post holder reports to the Workshop Night Manager for daily work allocation and supervision but must be capable of making independent decisions in the manager's absence. Accountability extends to senior managers in the Fleet Department.
Close collaboration with workshop colleagues, other departments, and suppliers is essential. The role involves supporting and training colleagues, including apprentices, on vehicle maintenance and updates.

Fleet Governance and Performance Manager
Salary: £35,964 to £43,780 per year. The role includes unsocial hours payment.
