Fleet Management is a key support service for many internal and external customers at Coventry City Council. We are based in a fully equipped vehicle workshop at our Whitley Depot site and are responsible for the repair and maintenance of approximately 500 items including vehicles and plant machinery and equipment. We are also responsible for the provision of fuel to our customers, and in addition provide a driver training service to many customers.
We want every single customer to have a positive experience when working with fleet management and would welcome you being part of the team.
You will be able to undertake the service, inspection, repair, and maintenance of various vehicles, plant, and equipment. The work ensures adherence to legislative and health and safety requirements, and is aligned to a planned inspection schedule, and agreed procedures and targets.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday hours of operation are 06:00 – 22:00
We run shift patterns to cover the business needs.
These are non-rotational shifts.
In addition to your qualifications, you will likely have extensive practical experience in fleet service, repair and maintenance including plant and large commercial vehicles.
You will know the legislative requirements for legally maintaining an HGV fleet, have a flexible approach to work, and be able to adapt to a changing working environment to meet customer needs.
Being a qualified MOT tester would be desirable, but not essential.
