Job Summary:

Otto Scooter is seeking a highly skilled Senior Workshop Technician to join our team. We’re a fast-growing company committed to making urban transport more sustainable through reliable electric mobility solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in either motorcycle maintenance and repair or in electric scooters and bicycles. This role requires hands-on experience, strong technical knowledge, and leadership abilities to oversee and mentor a team of technicians in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs:

Perform high-quality diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electric mopeds, bikes, and related systems.

Troubleshoot electrical systems, batteries, motors, and mechanical components of electric vehicles.

Oversee routine maintenance schedules for fleet equipment and ensure optimal performance.

Install and configure GPS tracking systems on vehicles.

Manage and monitor GPS systems to ensure accurate location tracking and efficient fleet management.

Execute and control administrative procedures related to garage operations, including maintenance logs, vehicle documentation, and inventory management.

Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and training on technical skills and best practices.

Manage work assignments and ensure timely completion of repairs and servicing.

Maintain a safe and efficient workshop environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Quality Control:

Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to the highest standard and in line with company specifications.

Perform final quality checks and tests to verify that all vehicles are ready for customer use or delivery.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

Monitor and manage workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and properly utilized.

Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts and consumables, and reorder supplies when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience (5+ years) in motorcycle or electric vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, batteries, motors, and vehicle diagnostics.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Proven ability to lead, train, and support technicians in a busy workshop environment.

Familiarity with workshop safety standards and regulations.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff or customers.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in automotive or electrical engineering, or similar technical qualifications.

Experience in managing inventory and workshop equipment.

Knowledge of fleet management and scheduling systems.

Experience in installing and managing GPS tracking systems.

Work Schedule & Conditions:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Role involves physical work, including lifting and handling tools and parts.

Mainly workshop-based. Possibility of working at customer premises for on-site repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics, depending on business needs.
