Job summary

Frasers Group is expanding its transport operation and seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to own the safety, compliance, maintenance and availability of our HGV and trailer fleet. In a two-manager structure across a seven‑day operation, you will lead day-to-day maintenance, minimise downtime and drive cost-effective, compliant fleet performance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing an HGV and trailer fleet in transport, logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance, inspections and defect management.
• Knowledge of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence compliance.
• Experience managing external suppliers and maintenance providers.
• Good commercial awareness with maintenance cost review and supplier performance.
• Excellent organisational and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance, compliance and availability of HGV and trailer fleet.
• Drive reductions in downtime by owning Vehicle Off Road activity.
• Oversee planned preventive maintenance and MOT schedules.
• Ensure DVSA standards and Operator Licence compliance.
• Manage external maintenance providers and service levels.
• Monitor fleet maintenance expenditure and control costs.
• Investigate recurring defects and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Transport Operations to minimise disruption.
• Maintain accurate fleet records and reporting.
• Support fleet investment planning and projects.
• Lead Fleet Supervisors and administration activities as needed.
