Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths (minimum 8).
• Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) desirable.
• Experience managing a large commercial transport fleet.
• Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
• Previous management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work in high-volume, high-pressure environments.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large commercial vehicle fleet ensuring compliance with servicing, MOT, road tax, insurance and fuel card requirements.
• Deliver fleet induction training to new starters, covering vehicle use, compliance and safety.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs with external providers to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Monitor fleet performance and driver training, including telematics outputs.
• Prepare monthly fuel and mileage reports and monitor private mileage.
• Support the Head of Fleet & Environmental Services with daily operations and cross-departmental projects.
