PHOENIX Medical Supplies Ltd. in Birmingham is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the company’s fleet network. You will drive performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across transport.

You will oversee maintenance, KPI reporting and supplier management, with a focus on safety and efficiency. This full-time role requires strong leadership and strategic planning within a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• National or International CPC is required.
• Experience leading fleet/transport operations and teams.
• Strong strategic planning and budget management capabilities.
• Proven regulatory compliance expertise across transport.
• Data analysis and performance management proficiency.
• Excellent Excel and Power BI skills.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Health & Safety qualification desirable (IOSH/NEBOSH).
• Project management and continuous improvement experience desirable.
• LEAN experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet operations and transport administration teams.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT scheduling, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Own VOR performance through supplier and operations management.
• Ensure transport compliance including Operator Licence, VOSA/DVSA, tachograph, and CPC.
• Manage fleet expenditure, fuel, utilisation and budgets.
• Oversee contractor and third-party relationships.
• Develop and implement fleet strategy to grow the business and optimise the network.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on safety, efficiency, sustainability, and service excellence.
• Produce fleet KPI reporting and analytics for decision-making.
• Investigate transport incidents, claims and risk mitigation.

Fleet Manager

Birmingham

37.5 hours per week

We're looking for a Fleet Manager to come join us, based in Birmingham. In this role you will lead the safe, compliant and cost-effective operation of the PHOENIX fleet network, ensuring excellent service delivery while driving fleet performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the transport function.

The heart of the role

• Leadership of fleet operations and transport administration teams.
• Management of vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT scheduling, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Ownership of VOR performance, maintaining through effective supplier and operational management.
• Ownership of transport compliance, including Operator Licence obligations, VOSA/DVSA requirements, tachograph management, and CPC compliance.
• Management of fleet expenditure, fuel consumption, vehicle utilisation, and transportation budgets.
• Contractor and third-party provider relationship management.
• Development and implementation of fleet strategy to support business growth and network optimisation.
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, sustainability, and service excellence.
• Production of fleet KPI reporting and analytics to support operational decision-making.
• Investigation and management of transport incidents, claims, and risk mitigation activities.
