Job summary

PHOENIX Healthcare Distribution Ltd is seeking a Fleet Manager based in Birmingham to lead the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the PHOENIX fleet network.

You will drive fleet performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the transport function, managing maintenance, KPI reporting and relationships with suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading fleet operations and transport administration teams.
• Strong budget management and cost-control abilities.
• Regulatory compliance expertise including CPC, DVSA/VOSA requirements, tachograph management.
• Data analysis skills using Excel and BI tools.
• Experience with transport management systems (TMS).
• Project management and continuous improvement experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant and cost-efficient operation of the PHOENIX fleet network.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT scheduling, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Own VOR performance and supplier/operational management.
• Ensure transport compliance and Operator Licence obligations.
• Manage fleet expenditure, fuel use, utilisation, and budgets.
• Oversee contractor and third-party provider relationships.
• Develop and implement fleet strategy to support growth and network optimisation.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency and service quality.
• Produce fleet KPI reporting and analytics for decision-making.
• Investigate transport incidents and risk mitigation.

Job description

We're looking for a Fleet Manager to come join us, based in Birmingham. In this role you will lead the safe, compliant and cost-effective operation of the PHOENIX fleet network, ensuring excellent service delivery while driving fleet performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the transport function.

The heart of the role

• Leadership of fleet operations and transport administration teams.
• Management of vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT scheduling, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Ownership of VOR performance, maintaining through effective supplier and operational management.
• Ownership of transport compliance, including Operator Licence obligations, VOSA/DVSA requirements, tachograph management, and CPC compliance.
• Management of fleet expenditure, fuel consumption, vehicle utilisation, and transportation budgets.
• Contractor and third-party provider relationship management.
• Development and implementation of fleet strategy to support business growth and network optimisation.
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, sustainability, and service excellence.
• Production of fleet KPI reporting and analytics to support operational decision-making.
• Investigation and management of transport incidents, claims, and risk mitigation activities.
