Job summary

Co-op Logistics seeks a General Manager - Fleet & Compliance to lead the national fleet operations, governance and compliance across our distribution network. You’ll shape the long-term strategy for around 2,000 vehicles and 1,000+ MHE assets while partnering with regulatory bodies, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of vehicle procurement, lifecycle management and fleet technology adoption, with a focus on safety, sustainability

Qualifications

• Experience leading fleet, transport or logistics operations in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of HGV fleets, lifecycle management and fleet technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of transport legislation and operator licensing.
• Experience developing fleet strategies and managing supplier relationships.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness; experience with contracts and procurement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to translate technical info into business recommendations.
• CPC qualification or equivalent with regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver long-term fleet, MHE and compliance strategy.
• Lead management and performance of national fleet operation.
• Act as SME on transport legislation, operator licensing and compliance.
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies, enforcement agencies, suppliers and partners.
• Lead major fleet procurement and tender activities.
• Drive innovation with new technologies and sustainable fleet solutions.
• Oversee supplier performance and significant fleet investments.
• Lead and develop a specialist team and influence senior stakeholders.
