Job summary

Yorkshire Water is recruiting a Metered Customer Service Advisor across the Huddersfield and Halifax region. The role reads water meters in domestic and commercial settings, ensuring timely data collection and immediate resolution of metering issues with excellent customer service.

We offer a 37-hour week, 12-month fixed-term contracts, and a comprehensive benefits package. Commute flexibility is supported within listed postcodes and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Outdoor role in all weathers and terrains.
• Heavy lifting of manhole covers involved.
• Experience aligning tasks with business plans and delivering outputs.
• Full Driving Licence with <= 6 points.
• Proficient in MS Office and adaptable to new systems.
• Experience working independently.
• Experience in a customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Record accurate meter readings by locating external meter chambers or visiting premises.
• Maintain round schedules and location notes to agreed standards.
• Attend appointments for investigations into customer usage and take action.
• Carry out ad hoc meter readings and final reads as required.
• Identify and replace damaged meters and address street furniture defects.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve broader objectives and safety goals.
