Job Title: Fitter

Location:

Hornsey, North London

6+ months

Pay Rate:

£28 per hour (umbrella), £21.88 per hour (PAYE)

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for Vehicle Builders for a 6-month contract based in Hornsey.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Fitting of floorings, seats, and windows.
2. Repairing shoe gear on rail systems.
3. Understanding rail/underframe/drawings and working with your own tools.
4. Collaborating with the Project Management team on site or at depots to deliver projects within budget and on time.
5. Ensuring all materials/parts, drawings, tooling, fixtures, test equipment are fit for purpose and available prior to job commencement.
6. Conducting investigations and reports on failed/defective components in line with policies & procedures.
7. Handling customer complaints initially, supporting as necessary, and escalating when required.
8. Maintaining positive relationships with customers to uphold the company's reputation.
9. Identifying opportunities for process improvement during service delivery.
10. Implementing and participating in 5S methodology during operations.
11. Participating in group deployment of improvement initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

1. Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification.
2. Strong technical skills and fault-finding aptitude.
3. Technical expertise related to our products.
4. Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
5. Ability to train others.
6. Proficiency with IT tools, especially MS Excel and tablets/laptops.
7. Ability to compile technical reports.
8. Organisational skills for managing workload.
9. Ability to work independently and in a team.
