Job summary

Napier Turbochargers, part of Wabtec Corporation, invites applications for a Mechanical Fitter based in Lincoln. You will join a world-class engineering team responsible for assembly, balancing, testing and delivery of turbochargers.

The role offers exposure to manufacturing, testing and production engineering activities, with potential UK and international travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' relevant industrial engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with rotating equipment, engines, turbochargers or similar mechanical assemblies.
• Dynamic balancing experience.
• Experience using calibrated measuring equipment.

Job description

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a key role in the balancing, assembly, testing and delivery of world-class turbochargers. You'll gain exposure to multiple manufacturing, testing and engineering activities including:

Essential requirements

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

Desirable experience

• A minimum of four years' relevant industrial engineering experience
• Experience of rotating equipment, engines, turbochargers or similar mechanical assemblies
• Dynamic balancing experience
• Turbocharger testing and commissioning experience, The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using a range of calibrated measuring equipment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A self-motivated approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute towards departmental objectives
• A flexible attitude towards shift patterns and overtime when required
