Pay Rate: £34,000 - £35,000
Grade: RCS O
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Rotational Shift Pattern Days 05:30 - 14:00 / Lates 13:30 - 22:00
Location: Hatfield AL10 8XF

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a First Line Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
  1. To directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and performance in your designated area.
  2. To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence.
  3. To track and trace orders using a digital in-house tracking software system, ensuring that records are maintained and kept at optimum level.
  4. Undertake basic low level incident investigations within the workplace and promptly escalate issues of non-compliance to safety regulations and procedures.
  5. Track team and individual performance of your employees.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  1. Previous and practical experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices.
  3. Previous experience of preparation and distribution of volume orders.
  4. Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
  5. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.

A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received.
