Location: Belfast

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a First Line Manager to play a vital role in coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrable understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

1. Managing a safe operation and role modeling a Safety-First Culture by applying and improving Safety Standards.
2. Implementing Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program as a daily practice to confirm behaviors and processes.
3. Conducting incident investigations within the workplace and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
4. Understanding health and safety risks in your area and taking actions to eliminate or minimize these risks according to an agreed plan.
5. Ensuring that Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) are up to date, accessible, and followed by employees.
6. Acting as the secondary point of contact for the customer regarding site operations and building strong relationships to develop trust and engagement.
7. Conducting regular reviews with shift managers on operational performance and KPI delivery.
8. Managing daily operations to meet commitments to customers and internal processes.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Minimum 12 months warehouse operations experience.
• Experience in team management.
• Sustainability and health & safety awareness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive attitude with passion and a commitment to right-first-time work.

Successful candidates must undergo a basic Access NI check; a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify an applicant.
