Job summary

Ring is seeking firmware engineers to design and build software for battery-powered IoT devices. You will own firmware components end to end, from architecture to delivery, collaborating with hardware, cloud, and mobile teams.

Candidates should have professional software development experience, strong C++/C# or Java, RTOS expertise, and low-level driver work. This on-site UK role offers impact across devices used by customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development for embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of C++/C# or Java with OO design.
• Experience with RTOS in production environments.
• Experience implementing low-level drivers and interrupt handling.
• Experience with embedded testing and CI pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware for IoT devices powered by microcontrollers.
• Own components end to end: architecture, implementation, review, testing and maintenance.
• Define interfaces consumed by other teams and services.
• Debug across full stack from hardware bring-up to field issues.
• Contribute to CI pipelines, build systems and automated tests.
• Collaborate with hardware, cloud and product teams to meet requirements.
