Your Responsibilities at AVP

As the Controller, reporting to the Managing Partner, you will oversee all financial activities of the firm and its investment funds, including:

1. Leading the finance and accounting functions, guiding the remote accounting team on bookkeeping, reporting, and board presentations.
2. Managing outputs from third-party fund administrators, such as NAV calculations and financial statements.
3. Driving fund management activities like capital allocations, calls, and distributions, including fee and carried interest calculations.
4. Analyzing and presenting financial data and operational metrics to stakeholders.
5. Leading tax planning, compliance, and overseeing audits and valuations.
6. Supporting investor relations throughout the investor lifecycle.
7. Enhancing financial reporting processes through automation and best practices.
8. Performing financial analyses including budgeting and cash flow management.
9. Managing legal, financial, and tax structuring of investment assets and transactions.
10. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as lenders and banks.
11. Embodies AVP’s core values to foster effective relationships.

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should demonstrate:

• A strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• 5+ years in private equity fund accounting or financial management roles.
• Accounting or finance qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and quick learner.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred but not required:

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Skills in process optimization and automation.
