Job summary

Capita Fire Service College is seeking a qualified Firefighter instructor to join the Learning Delivery and Transformation Team. The role focuses on delivering blended, digitally-enhanced training across a range of FSC courses, with emphasis on health and safety, quality delivery and continuous improvement.

You will lead and support learning activities, provide constructive feedback, and ensure safety across on-site and off-site venues.

Qualifications

• Qualified firefighter instructor with experience in a uniformed training environment.
• Strong understanding of the Fire Sector and the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework.
• Nationally recognised training qualification (AET L3) plus assessor awards; willingness to obtain Internal Verifier accreditation.
• Holds SFJ Level 3 BAI, SFJ Level 3 TVI, CFBTI Level 3 or equivalent.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team and deliver excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional teaching capability to support learning across FSC courses, fire & rescue service qualifications and wider private sector training.
• Deliver feedback to delegates and act as a syndicate lead when required as part of development.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of learners, colleagues and visitors, including delivery off site at other venues.
• Support FSC annual delivery plan by seeking opportunities and broadening skills to cover a broader range of specialist areas.
• Promote core values and an organisational culture that reflects best practice on equality and diversity obligations.
• Promote a positive attitude towards Health and Safety culture across the organisation.
