Job summary

The Firefighter Training & Development Coach role is based in the Gloucestershire area and is a permanent, full-time position within a renowned training provider. You will deliver high-quality fire and rescue training across classroom, practical and blended learning environments and contribute to professional development programmes and private sector courses.

Qualifications

• Qualified Firefighter Instructor with experience in a uniformed training environment.
• Understanding of fire sector qualifications and curriculum frameworks.
• Willingness to obtain or work towards recognised training qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality fire and rescue training across classroom, practical and blended environments.
• Support development and delivery of the Firefighter Foundation Development Programme.
• Provide structured instruction, assessment and constructive feedback to learners.
• Act as syndicate lead when required and coordinate course activities.
• Deliver training at main site and other locations; ensure health and safety across activities.
• Contribute to annual delivery plans and develop specialist training skills.
• Promote equality, diversity, excellent customer service and a positive safety culture.

Our client, a world-renowned further education and resilience training provider, is seeking a Firefighter Training & Development Coach to join its specialist training team around the Gloucestershire area. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to deliver practical and theoretical fire and rescue training across a range of professional development programmes, qualifications and private sector courses.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality fire and rescue training across classroom, practical and blended learning environments
• Supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of the Firefighter Foundation Development Programme
• Providing structured instruction, assessment and constructive feedback to learners and delegates
• Acting as a syndicate lead when required and supporting the coordination of course activities
• Delivering training at the main site and other locations where required
• Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of learners, colleagues and visitors throughout all training activities
• Supporting the annual delivery plan by developing skills across specialist subject areas and contributing to additional courses
• Promoting equality, diversity, excellent customer service and a positive health and safety culture

Job Requirements

• Qualified Firefighter Instructor with experience in a uniformed training environment, preferably within the Fire and Rescue Service or a recognised fire training establishment
• Strong understanding of the fire sector and relevant qualifications and curriculum frameworks
• Nationally recognised training qualification, such as an AET Level 3 or equivalent or willing to work towards
• Relevant assessor awards and a willingness or ability to obtain Internal Verifier accreditation
• SFJ Level 3 BAI, SFJ Level 3 TVI, CFBTI Level 3 or an equivalent qualification, held or currently being developed
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication, training and presentation skills, with the ability to provide effective learner feedback
• Commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement, innovation and inclusive learning
