Job summary

Global Fire and Security Systems is seeking an experienced Service Engineer - Electrical for field-based work at Canary Wharf, London. You will perform electrical fire life safety installations, maintenance, and fault repairs on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a City & Guilds 2360/IEE 18th Edition background, FIA qualifications, strong customer focus, and the ability to work at heights with a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• IEE 18th Edition Regulations (pref, not essential).
• FIA qualifications; experience with electrical fire life safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical fire life safety works in a safe, efficient manner.
• Carry out planned maintenance as scheduled.
• Report defects during service visits and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Maintain logs and documentation; manage vehicle and stock control.

OTE Earnings arounf £55,000 plus

Global have become industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems.

Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint an experiencedFire and SecuritySystem Service Engineer- to be field based on site at Canary Wharf.

Job Purpose:

• To undertake all fire and security electrical worksin an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.
• To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.

Key Accountabilities

• To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety
• To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports
• To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
• To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures
• To undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate
• To report any defects at time of service visit
• To carry out works specified
• To be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials
• To complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
• To understand and comply with policies and procedures
• To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
• To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and in accordance with training received
• Report any issues or training needs to your Field Line manager or incident reporting system

About You

• City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent (pref not essential)
• IEE 18th Edition Regulations (pref not essential)
• FIA qualifications
• Experience in dealing with all types of electrical fire life safety works, within the services sector (Advanced, Notifier, Edwards EST, Gent)
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
• Strong customer care focus
• Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
• Full UK driving licence
• Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Customer focused, possess good organisational skills.

Successful candidates will need to undertake security vetting
