Job summary

Global Fire and Security Systems is seeking a Fire & Security Systems Service Engineer - Electrical to cover the South West region. The role is field-based, with responsibilities including executing electrical fire life safety works and performing scheduled maintenance across assigned postcodes.

The ideal candidate will hold City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, preferably IEE 18th Edition, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Competent servicing across fire and security electrical systems.
• Experience with electrical life safety works in the services sector.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 25 kg.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and working to schedules.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fire and security electrical works safely within the South West region.
• Carry out planned maintenance in line with the schedule.
• Report defects during service visits and maintain logs.
• Manage vehicle and stock control, and complete all paperwork accurately.
• Follow group policies and participate in training and appraisal activities.

Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Fire System Service Engineers - Electrical, to be field based to be field based covering post codes in the South West - ideally located TA, BH , SP, BA region.

Job Purpose:

• To undertake all fire and security electrical works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.
• To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.

Key Accountabilities

• To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety
• To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports
• To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
• To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures
• To undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate
• To report any defects at time of service visit
• To carry out works specified
• To be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials
• To complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
• To understand and comply with policies and procedures
• To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
• To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and in accordance with training received
• Report any issues or training needs to your Field Line manager or incident reporting system

About You

• Competent servicing a range of fire and security safety systems
• City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• IEE 18th Edition Regulations (preferred but not essential)
• Experience in dealing with all types of electrical fire life safety works, within the services sector
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
• Strong customer care focus
• Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
• Full UK driving licence
• Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Customer focused, possess good organisational skills.
