Job summary
Global Fire and Security Systems is seeking a Service Engineer to cover the Dundee area in a hybrid role (electrical and mechanical). You will service and maintain fire safety and security systems, perform fault finding, and contribute to high standards of customer care.
The role requires experience in fire life safety, FIA/City & Guilds qualifications are advantageous, and a valid UK driving licence. Competitive salary with overtime, on-call and door-to-door payments are offered.
Qualifications
- Experience servicing electrical fire life safety systems.
- FIA qualifications preferred but not essential.
- City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent.
- IEE 18th Edition Regulations preferred but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to work at heights up to 3 metres and lift up to 25kg.
- Excellent communication skills and customer focus.
Responsibilities
- Undertake electrical and mechanical service and maintenance works in the Dundee area.
- Carry out planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates.
- Maintain and service fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems (Ansul R102).
- Carry out electrical repairs and installations as appropriate.
- Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
- Report defects at time of service visit.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment in accordance with Health & Safety policies.

Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Service Engineers - Hybrid, to be field based around the Dundee area.
Ideally, you will have experience of the servicing and maintenance/fault finding of electrical fire systems equipment, such as GENT, Notifier Advanced, Kentec.
If you also have experience of Ansul R102 systems and servicing Fire Extinguishers, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we can train you in the rest!
- To undertake all electrical and mechanical service and maintenance works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.
- To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.
- To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety
- To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports
- To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
- To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures
- To undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate
- To maintain and service fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems (Ansul R102)
- To report any defects at time of service visit
- To carry out works specified
- To be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials
- To complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
- Competent servicing a range of fire and security safety systems
- FIA qualifications (preferred but not essential)
- City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent
- IEE 18th Edition Regulations (preferred but not essential)
- Experience of electrical fire life safety works, within the services sector
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
- Strong customer care focus
- Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Customer focused, possess good organisational skills.
