Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a hands-on Supervisory Engineer to oversee daily fire and security system services across commercial sites in Southern England. You will balance field-based engineering work with leading and coordinating a small team to meet PPM, repairs and small works.

The role requires strong fault-finding skills, relevant qualifications, and the ability to manage contracts, plan workloads, and maintain safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with fire and security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and automatic fire detection.
• Experience supervising engineers or coordinating subcontractors is desirable.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across fire and security systems.
• Diagnose faults, complete reactive repairs and carry out system upgrades and modifications.
• Deliver small works in accordance with contract specifications, client requirements and agreed timescales.
• Supervise and support a team of engineers and specialist subcontractors across Southern England.
• Plan and coordinate workloads to ensure service delivery meets contractual KPIs and SLAs.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on service performance, outstanding works and technical issues.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant British Standards, legislation and industry best practice.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, risk assessments and other required documentation.
• Support the day-to-day operational performance and profitability of contracts, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and deliver additional works.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and subcontractors to ensure a consistent, high‑quality service.
