Job summary

Global Fire and Security Systems is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems across East London. You will manage maintenance schedules, uphold safety standards and provide professional on-site support for clients in hospitality and commercial settings.

Applicants should be familiar with British Standards for extinguishers, hold a UK driving licence, and be comfortable working at height.

Qualifications

• Experience in servicing portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices and safe working procedures.
• Proactive, customer-focused with the ability to diagnose potential faults.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul systems at client sites.
• Ensure maintenance is completed on schedule and reports are accurate.
• Take part in on-call rota and provide strong customer service.

Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a number of Service Engineers – Ansul & Fire Extinguishers, to be field based covering East London.

Training Provided

If you already have experience of Ansul R102 systems, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we may be able to train you in the rest!

For example, you might have experience of servicing extinguishers, or maybe another suppression/sprinkler system. If you are from outside of the industry and may have experience in BT/Sky installations, we would see these as transferable skills or perhaps you are a chef and understand how these systems operate and how a kitchen is managed. We would be happy to consider training you on the systems that you will need.

What we offer

Job Purpose:

• To carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
• To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.
• To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
• To ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position

Key Accountabilities

• To carry out fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedials at various sites such as restaurants and hotels.
• Providing a good level of customer service and professional manner at all times.
• Arranging your own diary and booking in appointments with clients.
• Completing paperwork and reports to be sent back in a timely manner.
• Take part in the on call rota alongside your colleagues.
• To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety
• To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports
• To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
• To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures

About You

• Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems
• Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
• Strong customer care focus
• Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
• Full UK driving licence
• Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
• UK Driving Licence

Successful candidates will need to undertake security vetting
