Job summary

SS Systems Limited, based in South Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV. The role involves upgrades, fault investigations and occasional UK-wide travel.

You will work with EMS, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, Hikvision and VESDA, delivering high workmanship while ensuring health and safety and strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing fire and security systems, especially fire alarms.
• Familiar with leading manufacturers such as EMS, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton and Hikvision.
• Organised, dependable and able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, repair and modify fire and security systems in accordance with British Standards.

• Support reactive callouts and planned maintenance when required.

A Varied and Rewarding Engineering Role

As a Fire & Security Engineer at SS Systems, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our customers’ fire and security systems continue to operate safely, reliably and effectively.

Your main responsibilities will include installing, commissioning, maintaining, repairing and modifying fire and security systems in accordance with the relevant British Standards.

The role will primarily involve planned alterations to existing systems, including upgrades, additions, repairs and fault investigations. However, you’ll also have opportunities to support reactive callouts and planned maintenance activities when required.

Working with a variety of systems and technologies, you’ll be responsible for delivering high standards of workmanship, maintaining excellent customer relationships and ensuring projects are completed efficiently.

Although based in South Yorkshire, the position involves working with customers throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays required.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in the maintenance and repair of fire and security systems, particularly fire alarm systems.

Experience with leading manufacturers and technologies, including EMS, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, Hikvision and VESDA, would be advantageous, although knowledge of every system is not essential.

Alongside technical expertise, we’re looking for someone who is organised, dependable and able to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues.

A proactive approach to fault-finding, strong time management skills and a commitment to health and safety will be important to succeeding in this role.
