Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Technician to join our growing UK-based engineering team, covering Peterborough and surrounding areas. The role offers a strong basic salary of £38,000–£40,000 with overtime and an OTE of £40,000+, plus a fully equipped company vehicle and dedicated training.

Responsibilities include routine servicing, fault-finding, maintenance visits, reactive breakdowns, and ensuring safety standards across CCTV, fire detection and alarm systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the Fire & Security industry.
• Relevant educational qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
• Electrical qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or similar.
• Previous experience working on CCTV systems, including networked and traditional platforms.
• Knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• IPAF certification would be beneficial, although training can be provided.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and fault-finding across a range of Fire & Security systems.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance visits in line with client requirements.
• Attend reactive breakdowns and service requests within agreed response times.
• Diagnose system faults and implement effective repair solutions.
• Identify equipment requiring replacement or further remedial works.
• Accurately complete service documentation and compliance records.
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant industry standards.
• Maintain a high level of customer service while working on client sites.
