Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Fire & Security Service Engineer for Peterborough and surrounding areas to service and maintain IP CCTV, access control, fire and intruder alarm systems across commercial sites.

You will diagnose faults, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, complete service reports, and keep customers informed. The role is full-time with overtime, a company vehicle and fuel card, on-call rota, paid travel time, and a strong training pathway.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience as a Fire & Security Engineer or Security Engineer preferred.
• Experience with CCTV, access control, fire alarms or intruder alarms is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of IP CCTV, access control, fire alarm and intruder alarm systems.
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective remedial works.
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry regulations.
• Maintaining clear communication with customers and completing service reports accurately.

Role & Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of IP CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, and Intruder Alarm systems
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites
• Working with a wide range of manufacturers’ systems
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective remedial works
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry regulations
• Maintaining clear and professional communication with customers
• Completing service reports and documentation accurately and on time
• Supporting other engineers and assisting the wider team when required

Skills & Experience Required

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous experience as a Fire & Security Service Engineer or Security Engineer
• Ideally 3+ years’ experience within the fire and/or security industry (desirable, not essential)
• Experience in one or more of the following: CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms
• Familiarity with a variety of manufacturers’ systems
• Willingness to undertake additional training and upskilling
• IPAF, CSCS/ECS, FIA, City & Guilds (desirable)
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation
