Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is recruiting 2 Fire & Security Engineers in the Gloucester area. You will install, commission, service and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire systems for a NSI & BAFE approved company with a 30+ year track record.

Typical duties include preventative maintenance, first-time fixes, documentation uploads, stock management and occasional on-call support. Strong knowledge of UK standards and major brands is required.

Qualifications

Essential: experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of fire and security systems.
Essential: competent in installation of fire, access control, intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
Essential: knowledge of conventional & addressable fire systems including major brands.
Essential: experience with fire and security software.
Essential: knowledge of Galaxy, Texecom, Eaton or similar intruder panels.
Essential: IP CCTV experience with major brands.
Essential: experience with access control systems (Paxton/Vanderbilt/Grosvenor).
Essential: working knowledge of current British Standards for fire systems, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV.
Desirable: BS5839, BS50131, PD6662, BS60839, NCP109, BS8418, BS6276, NCP104, BS5266/FIA units.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, service and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.
Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive works with a high first-time fix rate.
Communicate with admin, sales and operations to support scheduling.
Upload documentation, certificates, photos and job notes using job management systems.
Work on conventional and addressable fire systems.
Maintain van stock, tools and vehicle condition.
Participate in call-out rota and provide remote support when needed.
Identify recurring faults or design issues and contribute to improvements.

They’re a highly established, BAFE-accredited provider of Fire Protection and Security systems with over 30 years of industry experience reuslting in them ammasing an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality solutions to a prestigious customer base and are now seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing team in the GL postcode area!

Key responsibilities

Install, commission, service and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems
Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive works with a high first time fix rate
Communicate effectively with admin, sales and operations teams to support efficient scheduling
Upload documentation, certificates, photos and job notes using the job management systems
Work on an various Conventional & Addressable fire systems..
Maintain accurate van stock, tools and overall vehicle condition
Participate in the call out rota and provide occasional remote support
Identify recurring faults or design issues and contribute to continuous improvement

Skills and experience required

Essential:

Experience in Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of Fire and Security Systems for an NSI & BAFE registered company
Competent in the Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of Fire, Access control systems, Intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
Competent on Conventional & Addressable fire systems including Advanced, Kentec, Ctec, Morley, Gent, Notifier Vesda etc.
Experience in the use associated fire and security software.
Experience with intruder alarms with key experience in Galaxy, Texecom, Eaton etc.
Experience with IP CCTV systems with key experience in Hikvision, Dahua, Axis and Avigilon etc.
Experience with Access control systems with key experience in Paxton, ACT Vanderbilt, Grosvenor etc.
Experience with emergency lighting.
Must have working knowledge and experience of the current British Standards for fire systems, Intruder alarms, Access control and CCTV.

Desirable:

Qualifications/Experience in BS5839, BS50131, PD6662, BS60839, NCP109, BS8418, BS6276, NCP104 and BS5266/FIA Units preferable
