Job summary

City Facilities Management is seeking a technical specialist for designated stores to provide first-call response to Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA and Automatic Pedestrian Gates. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and first fixes to meet KPI targets while ensuring compliance with contractual duties.

Responsibilities include completing planned and reactive works, timely PPMs, coordinating with Helpdesk and Duty Manager, ordering parts, and maintaining accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Competency Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) is required.
  • Experience with CCTV IP/analogue systems is essential.
  • Knowledge of Fire alarm systems is required.
  • PC literacy is needed to complete paperwork and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to first call for Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA and gates, meeting KPI targets.
  • Undertake maintenance and repairs with first fix and closure per customer KPI.
  • Complete planned and reactive works for CCTV to contractual standards.
  • Call desk responses during normal hours and on-call periods as required.
  • Order parts as needed, track delivery, and chase overdue items within 5 days.
  • Complete all paperwork to measure service performance and undertake surveys.
  • Update Duty Manager on store visits about issues affecting operations.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are always available and serviceable.
  • Carry out Fire PPM visits to BS5839 and report defects.
  • Ensure Fire alarm systems comply with BS 5839 and report any issues.
  • Be aware of applicable regulations and codes of practice.
  • Notify helpdesk of procedural tasks on cessation of works.
  • Carry out surveys and complete reports as requested by supervisor/tech specialist.

Job description

Job Purpose:

To be the technical specialist for designated stores responsible for undertaking first call response to Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA, Automatic Pedestrian Gates.

Key Accountabilities:
  • To undertake maintenance and repairs in accordance with KPI's set by the customer including, but not limited to response, repair, first fix, and closure.
  • To ensure all planned, reactive and statutory works designated to a CCTV engineer is carried out in accordance with contractual obligations as set out in the CityFM Bookcase.
  • To complete the PPM works within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures and satisfactory standards.
  • To respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk during normal hours and when on call. For avoidance of doubt out of hours will be referred to the specialist in the first instance.
  • To order parts where required in line with Company Procedures, ensure prompt fitment on delivery and chase outstanding parts not delivered within 5 days
  • To fully complete all paperwork required by the Company to measure performance of service and undertake surveys as requested.
  • To meet and communicate regularly with the Duty Manager on every store visit to advise all repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
  • To ensure all tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.
  • Carry out required Fire PPM visits to BS5839
  • To ensure Fire alarm systems are in compliance with BS 5839 and report defects as necessary
  • To be aware of regulations and codes of practise applicable to the tasks.
  • To notify the company helpdesk of procedural task condition on cessation of works.
  • To carryout surveys and complete reports as required by the supervisor / technical specialist.
