Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is recruiting a Fire & Security Engineer to install, commission and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems. You will support both Colchester and Cambridge sites with a strong emphasis on first-time fix rates and customer service.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with NSI/BAFE standards, conventional and addressable fire systems, and IP CCTV. A van, tools and ongoing training are provided, with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

Essential: Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of Fire and Security Systems for NSI/BAFE registered company.
Essential: Competent across Fire, Access control, Intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
Essential: Proficient with Conventional & Addressable fire systems (Advanced, Kentec, Ctec, Morley, Gent, Notifier Vesda).
Experience with IP CCTV systems and access control equipment is required.
Desirable: BS5839/BS50131, PD6662, BS60839, NCP109, BS8418, BS6276 and related FIA units.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, service and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.
Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive works with a high first-time fix rate.
Communicate with admin, sales and operations to support scheduling.
Upload documentation, certificates, photos and job notes using job management systems.
Work on Conventional & Addressable fire systems and maintain stock and vehicle readiness.
Participate in call-out rota and provide remote support when needed.
Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous improvement.

They're a highly established, BAFE-accredited provider of Fire Protection and Security systems with over 30 years of industry experience reuslting in them ammasing an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality solutions to a prestigious customer base and are now seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing team in in either Colchester or Cambridge!

Key responsibilities

Install, commission, service and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems

Skills and experience required

Essential:

Experience in Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of Fire and Security Systems for an NSI & BAFE registered company
Competent in the Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of Fire, Access control systems, Intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
Competent on Conventional & Addressable fire systems including Advanced, Kentec, Ctec, Morley, Gent, Notifier Vesda etc.
Experience in the use associated fire and security software.
Experience with intruder alarms with key experience in Galaxy, Texecom, Eaton etc.
Experience with IP CCTV systems with key experience in Hikvision, Dahua, Axis and Avigilon etc.
Experience with Access control systems with key experience in Paxton, ACT Vanderbilt, Grosvenor etc.
Experience with emergency lighting.
Must have working knowledge and experience of the current British Standards for fire systems, Intruder alarms, Access control and CCTV.
