Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking an Assistant Fire Safety Advisor (Bank) to support the Fire Safety Team. The role focuses on delivering staff training, coordinating fire drills and inspections, and handling fire safety enquiries to uphold compliance.

The post requires relevant qualifications, experience in training delivery and familiarity with MS Teams/Zoom for virtual sessions. Closing date: 19 October 2026; Band 4 salary applies.

Qualifications

• Level 4 or Diploma in relevant field.
• 3 GCSEs or equivalent NVQ.
• Experience in delivering Face to Face training.
• Experience of using MS Teams / Zoom to deliver training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training to all staff throughout UHNM
• Arrange fire drills and practical demonstrations of first aid fire fighting equipment
• Undertake regular inspections of all premises in accordance with Firecode
• Respond to general fire safety enquiries and correspondence
• Manage records of training activity and staff attendance
• Ensure that fire alarms, first aid fire fighting equipment and escape lighting is regularly maintained and tested
• Ensure fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction
• Ensure that appropriate fire safety signage is displayed
• Prepare fire incident reports as required
