University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an Assistant Fire Safety Advisor (Bank) to support the Fire Safety Team. You will deliver staff training, organise drills, and help inspect premises for fire safety compliance.

The role requires a Level 4 Diploma or equivalent with experience in delivering face-to-face training and using MS Teams/Zoom. This is a flexible, bank post with hours dictated by service needs.

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

To assist the Head and Deputy Head of Fire Safety and Security and the Fire Safety Team to deliver a professional fire safety service by monitoring fire safety standards and delivering fire safety training.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver training to all staff throughout UHNM

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Manage records of training activity and staff attendance
  • Ensure that fire alarms, first aid fire fighting equipment and escape lighting is regularly maintained and tested
  • Ensure fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction
  • Ensure that appropriate fire safety signage is displayed
  • Prepare fire incident reports as required
Person specification
Qualifications
  • Level 4 or Diploma in relevant field
  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent NVQ
  • Experience in delivering Face to Face training
  • Experience of using MS Teams / Zoom to deliver training
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of work procedures and practices relevant to fire safety
