Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking an experienced Lead for Fire Safety (Band 7) to act as the head specialist for all fire-related matters. The post-holder will provide statutory guidance, manage Fire Advisors, and advise on maintenance of fire systems across the Health Board.

Responsibilities include conducting Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering specialist training to staff at all levels, with emphasis on learning from incidents and driving

Qualifications

• Degree level in fire safety or equivalent experience.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NHS software applications and fire safety applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise in-depth fire safety inspections and Fire Risk Assessments for SBUHB properties.
• Provide guidance on fire safety legislation, building regulations and compliance.
• Co-ordinate and manage the Fire Advisors and training for staff on statutory requirements.
• Investigate fire safety incidents and share lessons learned across SBUHB.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement of fire safety services.
