Fire Safety Coordinator

Shift Times: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: £171.50 per day

Location: Bridgwater, TA5 1UD

Job Purpose / Overview

The Fire Safety Coordinator is part of a team of specialist safety and compliance professionals reporting to the Fire Safety Manager. The main purpose of the role is to facilitate and coordinate fire safety data management systems, administer and collate the fire safety audit and assurance programme, conduct site fire risk assessments, and manage risk information. The role also involves providing advice and support on fire safety matters to the Principal Contractor (NNB GenCo), promoting a positive fire safety culture, and coordinating fire safety activities among various contractors working on the project and its associated sites.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Facilitate and administer the Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Data Management Systems and Fire Safety Audit and Assurance Programme.
2. Support stakeholder meetings, including regulators and external emergency services.
3. Contribute to the implementation of the fire safety strategy.
4. Assist with communication of lessons learned, toolbox talks, and fire safety moments across the business.
5. Coordinate, administer, and support regular site fire safety inspections and checks.
6. Support the production of management reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
7. Manage fire safety learning and improvements through the company learning tool.
8. Manage fire safety and emergency preparedness statistics, metrics, and dashboards.
9. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent ICT skills, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, Power BI, and Excel.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with contractors and responders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills with a methodical approach to planning and management.
• Ability to be self-motivated and manage own workload and priorities to meet team goals and targets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience working with Power BI Desktop and ICT systems, including Microsoft applications.
• Experience in creating and reviewing documents.
• Experience organizing and managing small projects or initiatives.
• Experience with Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessments is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with Construction Health & Safety is desirable but not essential.
