Job summary

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) – Specialist Estates Services in Cardiff invites an enthusiastic Assistant Fire Safety Advisor to join our fire team, supporting fire safety across the NHS estate in Wales. You will assist the Principal Fire Safety Advisor, provide guidance to Welsh Government and NHS Wales Boards, and help monitor compliance with Firecode and related guidance.

A degree in fire engineering or equivalent experience, plus good IT and communication skills, are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in fire engineering, fire management or building context, or equivalent experience.
• High level of IT literacy with good communication, team-working and presentation skills.
• Welsh language ability is desirable for this post.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Fire Safety Engineer and Fire Safety Advisor across a wide range of fire safety issues in the NHS estate.
• Advise NHS organisations on compliance with statutory legislation and Firecode guidance.
• Monitor NHS organisations’ performance in respect of fire safety regimes.
