About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Fire Safety and Emergency Planning Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and management across various critical areas within the Group.

This is an exciting opportunity as this role will include specific support for the day-to-day activities and upcoming projects within Estates & Capital Projects. This would comprise providing advice in all areas of fire safety management, having input into the design and development of new projects, and identifying areas of concern in current and future buildings.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the Group's Fire Safety Strategy by developing fire safety policies, procedures, and guidance documents.
  • Maintain records to meet local and statutory requirements.
  • Lead on Business Continuity and Emergency Planning by producing policies, procedures, and guidance, and maintaining records.
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures to improve safety culture and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Provide advice on Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPS) to ensure arrangements for staff and students requiring assistance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct fire safety inspections and audits.
About You
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Qualification in fire prevention or fire safety
  • Experience in Fire Safety
  • Experience delivering fire and emergency planning training
  • Ability to interpret fire safety legislation and standards and apply them effectively
  • Experience conducting fire risk assessments, including DSEAR and audits
  • Active membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Fire Safety Managers, or Fire Protection Association
