Job summary

Mitie’s Tersus division in Birmingham is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to join our safety team. The role focuses on conducting fire risk assessments, fire door surveys and compartmentation surveys across a variety of properties, with a salary between £40,000 and £50,000.

You will produce clear reports for clients, stay updated on fire safety legislation, and work flexibly from the office or on client sites. Relevant qualifications and membership with IFSM or IFE are preferred, and you’ll have

Qualifications

• A degree or qualification in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety (desirable)
• Registered with the IFSM, IFE or similar competency scheme (minimum intermediate level)
• Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments, fire door surveys and compartmentation surveys

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire safety risk assessments, fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys in line with regulations
• Produce clear and actionable reports guiding clients toward compliance
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, explaining findings and recommendations with clarity and confidence
• Stay ahead of changes in fire safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring our advice is always the best available
• Support the business by working flexibly and responsively from the company's office or from client's sites as required
