Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Fire Door Carpenter to join our growing South West team on a hospitality sector contract. You will inspect, maintain and repair fire doors, producing clear reports and compliant documentation while liaising with clients on technical requirements.

Ideal candidates hold an NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry with strong carpentry skills, a full UK driving licence, and experience using job management systems and mobile devices. Long-term career progression available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
• Strong carpentry and general maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of fire door regulations and certification processes.
• Experience inspecting, repairing and remedial works on fire doors.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
• IT skills and experience using mobile devices and job management systems.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to work.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fire door maintenance, repairs and remedial works according to regulations.
• Assess requirements and prepare accurate quotations for labour and materials.
• Liaise with clients, providing technical guidance on compliance.
• Inspect, certify and sign off completed works to standards.
• Maintain accurate job records, reports and compliance docs.
• Upload photos, certificates and supporting documentation to systems.
• Support account management and billing by resolving client queries.
